Adult

Hawksbill
Release Location:
فويرط, قطر

Female
Background:
Hooter was first spotted in Qatar back in 2004, on the same beach, and was tagged as part of an ongoing project by the Supreme Council for the Environment and Natural Reserves (now the Ministry of Environment). Now sponsored by Gulftainer, she still carries the metal tag with which we were able to identify her (IF2360), and now measures 70 cm in curved carapace length. Hooter did not lay eggs this night, but will likely return in the coming days to continue her nesting activities. She now has a new satellite transmitter to tell us about her migraiton habits and the location of her foraging grounds so that we are in a better position to advise governments on conservation measures.
