Background:
Kishi, sponsored by Momentum Logistics, was another large Omani turtle, measuring 81cm in curved carapace length. The hawksbills in Oman are among the largest in the world. Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs Rangers Naser and Talal found her nesting a long way from the main beach where we were working, but she was very meticulous, digging and covering her nest for a long time. By the time she was done she appeared exhausted and did not move while we were tagging her. She carries a shiny new titanium flipper tag to help us recognise her when she returns (number L 48276), and after being kitted with a new satellite transmitter she returned to the sea at about 04:00 am.
