Shelly, sponsored by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts UAE, was another turtle tagged in the 2012 season as part of our efforts to understand migrations and feeding ground se by hawksbill turtles in the Gulf region. She was spotted at about ten pm, but did not lay eggs. She measured 78 cm in length and we affixed a shiny new satellite transmitter and let her go her early in the morning. Along with the 30 other turtles we will track this year, she will provide us with important information on where turtles go after nesting, so that we are in a position to develop conservation programmes for these areas.
